points of interest
Ratschings offers beautiful destinations which you should get to know in any case. During a hike, for example, you can visit St. Andrew’s Church Innerratschings or the chapel in Flading, as well as castle Wolfsthurn, located in Mareit as well . The baroque palace with its 365 windows is situated on a hill and hosts now the South Tyrol Museum of Hunting and Fishing.
The St. Magdalena
This is an impressive hike passing along the Reifenegg ruins and thundering waterfalls. The “Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Klamm”, as it was baptized 100 years ago, is the world’s only gorge that is carved deep into pure white marble. The Ratschings stream forces its way spraying up between tower-high rock walls and plunges thunderously over numerous waterfalls into the valley. An unforgettable experience! The Gilfenklamm is open from early May to early November.
